In SA transport vehicles, a rigid, non-collapsible ice bath at full height can be used.  It should be rugged, stable and able to move quickly and easily from the vehicle to the patient's bedside and back into the vehicle.

SA's non-collapsible ice bath was designed to meet these requirements. Fabricated entirely from welded stainless steel, it has only two moving parts, one at each end.

After withdrawing a pair of locking pins, the operator can tilt either end down to facilitate intubation of a patient before water and ice are added to the bath. Alternatively the ends can be tilted up to enable the ice bath to fit into a small elevator or make tight turns around corners in a hallway. The ends can be raised while the ice bath is fully loaded with water, ice, and a patient.
